FP Pelletterie
A few years later, in 1977, he opened a small artisanal leather goods workshop in the heart of Florence, expanding the range of items and choosing an even more valuable and typical Florentine material: hide.
As the years passed, the many original ideas led Flavio Parenti to invent a special hand-coloring technique for Florentine leather, still secret and beloved worldwide.
The strength of this small leather business, however, lies in Flavio's family, consisting of his wife and three children, who would later become the sole custodians of their father's secrets and discoveries.
In 1988, his daughter Flavia and her husband (also Flavio) decided to open the first FP Pelletterie point of sale in downtown Florence, moving the production to the suburbs. Five years later, in 1993, the couple decided to expand their sales space by abandoning the then stand and opening the first store under the FP Pelletterie brand.
In the years to come, the stores increased, so much so that today FP Pelletterie has as many as three stores in the city's most symbolic point: Piazza Duomo. Even today, in one of the stores in the center of Florence, you can admire and photograph some of the tools used in the very first artisan workshop.
